Atlantic Centre of Excellence for Women's Health (ACEWH/CESF)
ACEWH is a dynamic mix of community, academic, and government
representatives in the Atlantic Provinces. Its goal is to support
research, influence policy, and promote action on the social factors that
affect women's health and well being over the lifespan.
BC Centre of Excellence for Women's Health
The Centre's mandate is to facilitate research on the social determinants
of health for marginalized women. It also provides resources to individuals
and organizations that develop policy or provide women's health services.
BC Institute Against Family Violence
The Institute works to increase public awareness and understanding of
family violence through education and dissemination of information. It
provides continuing education for professionals, conducts research, and
develops and distributes resources to community organizations.
Centre of Excellence for Women's Health - Université de Montréal Consortium (CESAF)
Through research and other activities, CESAF facilitates collaboration among
its community, academic, and health and social services network partners.
Its works to improve the health of immigrant women, Aboriginal women, and
women caregivers, by identifying the main areas in which research and change are
needed.
Centre for Research on Violence against Women and Children
The Centres' purpose is to promote the development of action-oriented,
community-centred research that is based on a feminist analysis of violence
against women and children. The Centre's role is to facilitate research and
training related to the understanding and prevention of abuse for a
diversity of the community.
Centre for Feminist Research/le centre de recherches féministe (CFR/CRF)
With more than 100 feminist scholars affiliated with the Centre, its mandate
is to promote collaborative research and establish academic linkages between
York University and local, national, and international communities to the end
that such partnerships impact positively on the lives of women, children, and
families globally.
Franco-American Women's Institute (FAWI)
The Franco-American Women's Institute is an organization of women who gather together
as a force for the specific purpose of promoting Franco-American, ethnic women's voices.
The Franco-American Women's Institute is also an archival place or a recording place.
Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research (MMFC)
The MMFC is the only family violence research centre in the Atlantic
Region. About 210 academic and community researchers are involved
in its projects, governance, committees, workshops, and networking
meetings. It offers a Family Violence Issues Certificate Programme.
National Network on Environments and Women's Health (NNEWH)
Research at NNEWH explores the impact of three key environments on women's
health: workplace, health systems, and policy. NNEWH's environmental
approach involves working in collaboration with community-based
organizations to make the research relevant to the realities of women's
daily lives.
Prairie Women's Health Centre of Excellence (PWHCE)
The PWHCE brings together community-based and academic research and policy
expertise, to do women-centred, participatory,action-driven policy
research. It values the different viewpoints and approaches that women of
diverse backgrounds and life experiences bring to health issues, and
recognizes the importance of involving women in all aspects of health
research.
International Research Centers
Association of Institutions for Feminist Education and Research in Europe (AOIFE)
AOIFE links institutions dedicated to initiating and supporting feminist
education and research in Europe. It is also a platform from which to
submit applications for funding for projects related to Women's Studies
education and research in Europe.
Feminist Majority Foundation's Feminist Resource Centre (FRC)
The FRC hosts the research findings of the FMF, including
their annual Clinic Violence Survey. IT also provides bibliographies and
metalists of links to other important websites.
